Recently, we started weaving items from paracord, such as knife lanyards, keychains, and zipper pulls. I learned that experts recommend snipping the ends with micro-shears before melting the tips for a more polished finish. At first, I bought some cheap clippers that lasted only 10 minutes – the tip broke in half on my third snip! My second pair are the XURON 410 Micro-Shear Flush Cutters, and they have truly stood the test of time. They use a patented bypass method that produces a clean, flat cut. I appreciate their accuracy, sharpness, and ergonomics as well. The handles are made of soft-touch TPU-style plastic. Recommended. Made in Saco, Maine. Find them at Amazon...
Luminoodle Light Rope
Today, we reviewed the waterproof Luminoodle Light Rope & Battery/Lantern from Power Practical. We found them to be well-built, bright, rugged and versatile. If you’re trying to decide between the 5 or 10 foot length, we preferred the 10 which provided twice the lumens (360) and was long enough to wrap the rear of our t-top. A great safety feature is that the battery pack doubles as a USB charger for your phone or other electronic device. Find it on Amazon…
Whether you are boating, camping, biking, or doing handy work, the Luminoodle provides a bright, spread out light to see your surroundings. It is flexible, waterproof (IP-67 rated), and powered by a battery pack, The Lithium 4400 (other universal USB packs also work to power the light ropes). Luminoodle comes with universal ties, embedded magnets, utility loop, and a ripstop nylon lantern bag so you can stick, strap, hook, or hang it to add light to your night.
