I came across the Mini Adira Benchmade knife that I really liked the look of. It’s the one at the top of the photo. It had all the specs I wanted: drop point, fish scale lines, lock back, ocean blue scales and a high-contrast International orange lanyard. However, I am pretty good at losing knives (in the water, in the woods, in the yard) so I decided not to “drop” over $200. What I ended up with for around $20 was the SOG Adventurer LB. I figured for that price, I could lose a dozen and still be ahead of the game. The SOG is an ounce lighter plus I had to make my own lanyard. It’s no Benchmade, but I’m happy and I like that if fits in my pocket nicely. Find it at Amazon...

Yeti Hopper Cooler
The portable Yeti Hopper made with a Dryhide shell (the same material used in whitewater rafts and survival suits), the Hopper 30 is completely leak proof and puncture resistant. Coldcell insulation delivers the same cold-keeping performance you’ve come to expect from Yeti, and the Hydrolock Zipper makes for a watertight closure to the cooler. A heavily padded EVA foam bottom protects against wear and tear, and six heavy duty D-ring tie down points allow you to securely fasten the cooler to your four wheeler, boat bottom, truck bed, or drift boat. The tapered design is intended to reduce cold loss and allows for ease of carrying when walking long distances. The cooler has a 6. 5 gallon carrying capacity, which according to Yeti, allows it to easily accomodate an 18 pack, six footlong subs, or nine quarts of potato salad. Expensive, but perhaps the best portable cooler. Find it at Amazon…
